In Matewan, he had his first opportunity to play a "bad guy." He also worked on an independent Canadian film, I Love A Man in Uniform, for which he won the Genie Award for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role". Other numerous film appearances include: In Cold Blood, Race the Sun, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, City of Hope, Another 48 Hours, and Road House. More recently he has appeared in the T.V. series Murder One as Detective Davy
